Randy Forstmann was destined to be a multi-multi-billionaire, but that was hard to see
as he labored for seven years of patient experimentation in his skeptical father's basement.
Coached by a brilliant but eccentric mentor, and supported by his wife Kenna and sister Dagny,
Randy discovers the secret to achieving previously impossible gravitons. Lots and lots of gravitons.
And, of course, anti-gravitons.
After long years in that old basement, he makes the breakthrough he was looking for,
and then is faced with finding the path to turn a small prototype into a practical system.
Randy had dreamt of the stars all along, but, as he often said, there were miles of broken
glass to cross barefoot before he could get there. But at the end of all of that would be The Drive.

"It has taken a long time for me to find an author worth reading. [His series] was a first rate read. Kept me on the edge the whole time. Looking forward to the next one."
"[This series is] so reminiscent of the time when SF came of age. Rock has brought this genre brilliantly to maturity as no other author has done."
