Eyes of the Sign (The Lurran Chronicles, #1)

Eli suddenly wakes up on a metal table before getting tossed into the middle of a magical, monster-infested forest. If that wasn't bad enough, the experimental technology in his head is acting up, causing all sorts of problems, and the nearest medical specialist might as well be a universe away. Thankfully, Eli has some magic he's learning to use, which should help him survive in this dangerous new world.
