Cimorene is everything a princess is "not" supposed to be: headstrong, tomboyish and smart. She is so bored that she runs away to live with a dragon and finds the family and excitement she's been looking for. A "School Library Journal" Best Book of the Year.

This book is utterly hillarious. A fairytale princess is fedup with"princess-like" activities (she would much rather study cooking, latin, and magic) and has just found out that she is to be married to a slob of a prince, so she runs away and becomes a dragon's "captive princess" (read: "willing housekeeper"). Hijinks ensue.

No romance; that comes in the next volume.
